About Us
We met at Rice University while playing pick-up soccer. It took a few more years and some mischievous roommates before we figured out that we should be dating, but things seemed to have worked out pretty well since then.

Last December, Alec planned a get-away weekend in Napa Valley and we went on a hike in Skyline Park. What started out as a light mist at the beginning of the hike turned into actual rain at some point, but Alec clearly had his mind set on something. As residents of San Francisco we were well prepared in our North Face jackets, so we made it to the top of the hill. Once we reached the top, Alec proposed, Edith said yes, and now we get to invite you to come celebrate with us on August 17th when we will be married in Fort Bragg.

Weather

Fort Bragg is northern, coastal California. The ceremony and reception location is just far enough inland that we might miss the fog, but in the shade of the redwoods it's unlikely to exceed 70F. The average high and low in August are 64 and 49; the chance of rain is low. We will have outdoor heaters, a tent, and a campfire for the after-party, but a sweater or wrap is still probably a good idea.
Travel and Accommodations
The nearest airports are San Francisco (SFO) (directions), Oakland (OAK) (directions) and Sacramento (SMF) (directions). Fort Bragg is a three and a half hour drive from San Franscisco. Traffic can be quite heavy getting through Santa Rosa if you are there near rush hour. There are many options for accommodations in and around Fort Bragg and Mendocino. August is the high season for tourism, so we encourage you to book early.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express (map) right down the road from Alec's parents' house. The rooms will be held until July 26th under the name "Sullivan/Arnold Wedding." To book a room in the block, call: 707-964-1100

There are also great places available on vrbo and airbnb.

If you're looking for something a little more luxurious, Mendocino and Little River have many beautiful hotels and B&Bs that are a 10-15 minute drive from the wedding location.

If, however, you'd still like to get us something, here are some things you can trust we'll make good use of in our home.
